It took a while and I, too, chose the path of conformity for many years, but I'm finally taking the time to figure out what I REALLY want now and not letting others' opinions or "standards" affect me!
Thank you Stephanie! I read about your story too and I found it so inspiring! I'm so proud of us for finding the courage to embrace our freedom 💖 We'd think it's the most obvious thing to do, but in reality, very few people actually do it. It's one of the bravest decisions we can ever make to really own our story and not let others dictate it
We're enough in ourselves. I also agree with the idea that we always know what we want to do but we stay stuck in achieving social acceptance. But it's only one life. Live it your own way.
Yes! 💯 It's ironic how we easily give up our freedom to try and please others, or how we can easily let a few negative words said by other people ruin our happiness. It's our own life, yet we often forget to take responsibility for it.
I still don't really know what I want to do when I "grow up."
I've had an almost 20 year career in a field I find interesting, fulfilling and enjoyable, but I fell into it after getting a degree in a field I realised too late that I didn't want to work in.
I've only just finished paying off my student loan. It was an expensive way to find out what I didn't want to do for a living.
Only recently have I decided to look for what I actually want to do, and right now it has something to do with writing. Which, luckily I can do whilst I continue with the day job to keep the lights on.
Making this a career though. That's the part I'm stuck on.
Good luck Alea, I know you'll do well and I'm glad I was here to see the start of your journey.
Thank you so much for sharing your story, Mark! 🥺 I'm happy that you're allowing yourself to explore your interests outside of your job. You're an amazing writer and you're a huge blessing to this community ✨
I can totally relate with how you're passionate about writing but you're still stuck on how to make this a career — that's exactly how I feel too 😭 But I think that nothing's impossible as long as we keep moving forward. The beginning is always the hardest, and I'm grateful that we're supporting each other on this journey. I'm excited to see how far we'll go after 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, and so on! I know our future selves will thank us for all the effort we're doing right now 😊
Thanks Alea. Who knows what the future holds. I do know that it will be interesting and if we stay consistent, if nothing else in a year we will have a huge back catalogue to our names!
Love this ❤️ Amazing insights!
